Past, Present, and Future Project Round-up!

Heelllooooo blog friends! It has been a little while, I didn't intend to take as much of a break as I did, but here we are and it's already nearing the end of January. So a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!

November and December are always my craziest months of the year, and things just go topsy turvy while I frantically finish up orders to get out in time for Christmas. And then I just collapse for a bit afterwards, lol. But I'm starting up again, and I thought it would be fun to take a quick look at some of the projects I finished up and didn't get to blog about at year's end, as well as talk about some of what I have in the works!

First up is a sweet Christmas dress for a little girl and matching ascots for her brothers!! My friend Sheri orders a Christmas ensemble for her kids every year, and I always look forward to it! :-)

This year she also got a sweet ruffle apron for her daughter as a Christmas gift.

Before the Christmas rush, I made a dress for my friend Alexa. It has a full circle skirt, and pockets of course. :-)

We already have several other pieces in the works for her!

And finally, I also got to make another super fun outfit for a photoshoot by my friend Sally of SallyKate Photography. This time with a 50s theme!!

I made a green dress with a full circle skirt, a petticoat to go under it, a fun frilly apron, and some bubblegum pink curtains.

And here are some of the amazing shots!

Is her daughter not the cutest thing ever in this shoot!?!?! I can't stand it!

There's really nothing like seeing something you've made immortalized in stunning photography. :-)

As for future projects, I already have SO much lined up for this year! This includes:
  • A fun vintage inspired wardrobe (2 dresses and 3 skirts!)
  • A vintage inspired wedding dress
  • Several bridesmaids dresses (different wedding!)
  • A flower girl dress
  • A formal maternity gown (in the most gorgeous silk, I can't even tell you!!)
  • Another formal dress for a black tie wedding
  • Some more fantasy-like dresses for a Spring photoshoot
On top of all that, I may or may not have 2 children's HOOP SKIRTS to play with!! They sell these at Ikea right now and I couldn't pass them up, can you imagine the possibilities? I sure can!

And finally, to help me with all of this, I have a new workflow aid! It's called a kanban board, and it is very simple, but very effective. A Post-It for each item, and a queue, so that I can limit what I'm working on at one time and be able to focus on it. I already have a good pile of "done" sticky notes since taking this pic and it's very motivating to see!

That about wraps things up, I'm hoping to make at least a post a week on whatever current project I'm working on, plus my Friday instagram posts. My goal this past year was to get back in the habit of blogging, and I'm pleased with how that went, so I definitely want to keep that up.

Oh!! I almost forgot one little thing...in an effort to motivate myself to shed some weight, I've decided not to sew anything for myself until I lose a certain amount. It might be a while...isn't that terrifying?!?! Lol, but this is definitely a motivating carrot for me, so hopefully it won't be too long! I certainly have plenty to keep me busy until I meet my goal, though, and I can't wait to see what else the year brings!
