My Daily Sew Update

I'm fairly pleased with how my experiment for March went, even though I missed a few days here and there. I'm planning on continuing with My Daily Sew updates, but I'll just be shooting for several times a week rather than every day! I'll try to snap a pic of any project I happen to be working on that day. The short and sweet posts definitely help me stay on track!

Today, I found a new fabric organizational tool, pants hangers! They're great for my larger amounts of fabric which can be hard to fold neatly. I found the idea on Pinterest, got a couple pants hangers, and love it. I'll be getting more for sure for the rest of my fabric!

My Daily Sew Challenge

So, yeah, February happened! I even got an extra day in February and still managed not to make a single post. I have been really busy with lots of sewing projects, I just haven't had a chance to sit and make long, thorough posts about them. Also, when it's not something for me (that I can model, take pictures at my own pace, where there's no rush getting it into someone else's hands, etc) I seem to have a harder time getting around to blogging about my projects.

So I've decided to do a daily posting challenge for myself, at least for the month of March. I will post something every day about whatever project I'm working on at the moment. It might just be a quick instagram, but I will do something every day for the month of March! Maybe that will help me get my blogging mojo back. :-)

I'll be tagging my posts with #mydailysew here on the blog, as well as facebook and instagram.

First up today is just a shot of a bunch of my tissue holders wrapped up and ready to be taken to my booth at Austin Gift Co. I sometimes think I've made more money from selling these than all of the aprons and dresses I've sold combined! They are such great scrap-busters, and they consistently sell.

Exciting Announcement!

So I just wanted to pop in and share that some of my creations are now being sold in a local store here in Austin! Isn't that awesome? It's such a cool store where local artisans set up booths, you can find all kinds of great stuff, handmade, vintage, quirky, fun...you name it! And now I have a booth of my own. :-) Here's a quick pic I took with my phone!


I'm excited to see how it works out, whatever happens it has been a blast to set up and it's just plain cool to see my stuff in a real store, hehe. Any locals who are interested, it's the Austin Gift Company on South Lamar, close to Target.

On another note, I hope to put up a new simple, easy fun tutorial very soon! Just need to get all my pics sorted out, so stay tuned. :-)

Monday, Monday...

So once again I'm behind, I'll do my best to have the floral fabric creations up by Monday, and get the next fabric choices up as well. Only 2 more weeks!

Facelift!

As you can see, I've given my blog a facelift! Now it matches my sewing room and makes me smile. :-) I just love chandeliers and damask, what can I say? I've also updated my packaging, stickers, business cards etc to match as well. I do plan on keeping up my blog more frequently, I'm going to aim for a blog post a week. I've already been making a few new apron designs that I haven't mentioned here, so blogs about those will be coming up soon.
