Hey everyone, if you're on facebook then check out my new facebook page for Aux Belles Choses, and if you'd like you can even become a fan. I'll use it to post my latest creations, and from time to time, I might even use it to announce a sale...sshhh....;-)

Girls' Victorian Inspired Aprons
Just finished these...I found a huge amount of dusty pink lace ruffles on clearance and bought them, and then later I was inspired to use them as the "petticoat" layer of the Victorian Inspired apron when I saw how well the color matched up with some random fabric I'd bought a few days earlier on a whim (both of the fabrics were the last on the bolt!) I just love when things fall into place like that. :-)

New Style - The Domestic Princess
My latest Christmas apron is up here. It's similar to the Brown Bird apron in style, except the skirt is much fuller and longer, and rather than being simply gathered at the waist it's pleated with double box pleats. I love the result, and I decided to call this style the Domestic Princess. Once I catch up on Christmas orders I'll be making some non-seasonal versions of this one!

My First Christmas Apron...Ever!
There are many more to come so I can stock up my Etsy shop, but this is my first! (Check it out in the shop here.)
And just for fun, here's a little matching bird I made from this pattern, which has now become a plaything for the cat, lol.

Brown Birds and Cream
So I wanted to use up some of my stash, and I really love this fabric. I wanted to make a feminine full apron, and along the way I decided to use the criss cross back design that I use on the Regency Inspired aprons. I put the apron on and wore it around for a bit, and it's really comfy! The criss cross straps really help it stay in place and made it easy to forget I was even wearing it. It's available in my Etsy shop now.

Denim Skirt from Old Jeans
So I had some grungy jeans that I wore all the time, they were so comfy! In fact I wore them so much that I ended up with holes where the thighs rubbed together, lol. I finally bought myself some new jeans but didn't want to throw the old ones away. I finally got around to doing what I had in mind...turning the old jeans into a skirt!
And so I did...now I have a grungy new comfy denim skirt. :-D

Something for Me!
It's been a while since I made something for myself...I decided to make a crafty toolbelt-ish apron so that all my sewing tools are close at hand. I used some red canvas I had and some pretty white and red decorative fabric to girly it up, and lace, along with a cute little pleated trim. :-)
